A SHORT FILM ABOUT STROIK - COMING 2026

SYNOPSIS:

Drew Stroik: Unknown Pop Wizard is a posthumous portrait of a brilliant but troubled indie pop artist whose story remained largely untold - until now. Raised in small town North Carolina, and later living in near anonymity in Pueblo, Colorado, Stroik was a musical savant whose demos echoed with the spirit of Bowie, Brian Wilson, and early Beck. But behind the brilliance was a man struggling with addiction, isolation, and the quiet ache of unrealized dreams.

The documentary follows the rediscovery and resurrection of Stroik’s music after his death in 2022, uncovering a treasure trove of unreleased recordings. As collaborators, family members, and close friends piece together his life and legacy, a hauntingly beautiful portrait emerges - of a man whose genius was matched only by his self-doubt.

With vérité moments, original songs, and animation woven through archival clips and personal footage, Unknown Pop Wizard speaks to anyone who’s ever felt unseen, unheard, or misunderstood - and to the power of music to outlive the pain that created it.
